OCA Hotels sells its hotel from Burgos to Stoneshield, but doesn’t rule out to come back to the city at the first opportunity

OCA Hotels and Stoneshield Capital have reached an agreement whereby the fund manager has bought our hotel OCA Burgos Centro. However, we don’t rule ou to come back to the capital of Burgos as soon as we have and find the opportunity! As our general manager, Ramón Braña, explains, our aim is to continue growing in hotel leasing contracts in Spain, especially in the northwest.

The signing of this sale and purchase operation took place on April, 26th. The new owners, Stoneshield Capital, will dedicate the establishment to a university residence. And the director of the Burgos hotel, Judit Morales, will now direct our hotel Duerming Longoria Plaza in Oviedo.

This operation has been a good opportunity to obtain liquidity. It has been an injection of capital for the expansion of the company, which is immersed in the process of opening two new business units in the neighboring country, Portugal. In the middle of this year, we plan to start our hotel activity in Porto and Lisbon.

Likewise, in Brazil we are working to expand the accommodation capacity of Grand OCA Maragogi to exceed 400 rooms, with the construction of three new and differentiated units, specialized in the family audience, one of them themed, and the other only for adult public, with a special offer of restaurants and cocktails that will cover an area of 3,000 square meters.

Our intention is to be hotel managers, rather than owners, and obviously both in Burgos, as in any other Spanish city, as soon as it arises we will continue growing.

Ramón Braña emphasizes that the commitment of OCA Hotels continues to be the generation of employment and the opening of new business units in the short and long term, focused on the northwest of the peninsula. In Galicia we will also open a new boutique hotel in July, in the capital of Ourense. The OCA IMI Ourense, whose reservations will be active on the web, in the coming days. It is therefore our interest to continue increasing our assets.
